Dennis Fitzwater

Dennis Fitzwater graduated from Cowanesque Valley HS in 1985, where he played football and basketball. Dennis graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Turfgrass Management. In 2002 he was hired as golf course superintendent at Corning Country Club. During that time he became a certified Golf Course Superintendent, a designation bestowed upon only those who have demonstrated a high degree of knowledge in their profession. During his 13 years at Corning he oversaw 7 LPGA Corning classic Golf Tournaments. CCC received LPGA awards for the most improved golf course conditions in 2005 and top quality greens in the top 3 courses on tour under Dennis’ direction. He was a consulting superintendent for the 60th LPGA Championship at the Monroe Golf club in Pittsford, NY.

In 2005 he was awarded the NY Central Region Golf Course Superintendent of the year. In 2020 he was hired by his hometown course River Valley, and has created a course that has gained a great deal of prestige and is recognized as one of the finest courses in the North Central Region of PA.
