Tim graduated from Wellsboro Area High School in 1969, where he participated in Basketball and Baseball. Tim graduated from Williamsport Community College in 1971. He coached Baseball at Wellsboro for 13 years, and also coached Golf for 9 years. He won 2 NTL Championships in Baseball and was also Basketball scorekeeper for 15 years.
